Two of our premier vendor alliances are with GNB for flooded cell batteries and Square D Services for low and medium voltage breakers.  These long standard partnerships are unique in that full-time NLI personnel work at their manufacturing facilities in Fort Smith and Cincinnati providing QA oversight.

Motor Control Center (MCC) cubicles (or buckets) represent another important way NLI supports the nuclear industry.  NLI performs maintenance, retrofits, and manufactures new MCC cubicles as an OEM.  In fact, NLI is the largest supplier of MCC cubicles to the nuclear industry, having supplied thousands of cubicles to about half the US operating units as well as several international sites.

In addition to breakers and buckets, NLI also manufactures custom switchgear and the motor control centers that house the individual buckets.  In addition to custom switchgear, NLI also modifies OEM switchgear to meet clients’ requirements.  A typical modification is to add braces throughout the structure so that the switchgear can pass seismic qualification testing.

At the other end of the gamut from breakers, buckets, and batteries, NLI supplies a wide array of smaller electrical products such as switches, terminal blocks, relays, and fuse blocks.  Some of these products are simply commercial grade dedicated and others are qualified for nuclear applications.  In some cases, NLI takes commercially available products and modifies them so they’ll pass qualification testing or meet other customer requirements.
