Products

NLI has one of the broadest ranges of products in the nuclear industry, offering parts and equipment for nearly all systems in nuclear plants.  When questioned directly on our scope of supply, we often pause and provide an answer like, ”everything except fuel” or “whatever our customers ask for.”  Maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but it is fair to say that our capabilities are almost limitless.

In an attempt to better describe NLI’s range of products, there are a couple ways we can divide the products into distinct groups.  One way is to group the items as Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation & Control, which we have done on this website.  Another way is to group the items by the type of supply or NLI’s involvement in the supply process.

For a large portion of the equipment we sell, NLI is the OEM.  A prime example of this is our Motor Control Center (MCC) cubicles, which is our top selling product.  NLI designed, qualified various models, and manufactures these in our Fort Worth headquarters.  NLI is the number one supplier of MCC cubicles to the nuclear industry.

For another major portion of the products we sell, NLI provides sales, engineering, and/or quality assurance support to world-class manufacturers of parts and equipment.  A great example of this is our relationship with Square D Services, which is a world-leading manufacturer of breakers and other products.  NLI’s engineers worked with Square D to modify existing designs allowing them to be qualified for nuclear applications.  NLI also has full-time employees working within Square D’s Cincinnati manufacturing facility overseeing all manufacturing and assembly of safety-related breakers.

The last group of products is the hardest to define because it is literally whatever the customers ask for.  NLI has supplied safety-related power supplies, fuse blocks, fan blades, bearings, motors, switches, valves, and the list goes on.  We’ve even supplied diesel generators!  Okay, so we’ve never supplied a steam generator or high-pressure turbine, but we’ve supplied more items than we can possibly list.
