Facility
In early 2010, NLI moved into a new building several miles from the previous location. This was a huge step forward for NLI and will allow us to grow to meet the demands of our customers and the nuclear industry as a whole. NLI spent six months completely renovating the new 200,000 square foot facility.
Employees enjoy spacious offices or cubicles, creating a much more worker-friendly environment, with break rooms, conference rooms, visitor rooms, and other facilities. Out in the manufacturing areas, workers have plenty of room to spread out and have easy access to nearby tools and supplies.
From a safety perspective, our most dangerous equipment such as our 6 foot and 12 foot seismic tables and LOCA chamber are in a large enclosed area. Seismic tests are controlled by operators safely isolated outside and view the test through safety-glass. If you’ve ever witnessed seismic qualification testing on a chiller weighing 20,000 pounds, you’ll understand the importance of having something solid between you and the test.
NLI’s owners chose to purchase the new building and invested a great deal of capital in renovations and new furniture and equipment. The new facility is one more example of the strong commitment NLI’s leadership has for the nuclear industry.
